The Jelson Apprenticeship Scheme runs over 3 years and will hopefully see our trainees gaining NVQ Levels 1, 2 & 3. The course consists of part college (day/block release at Leicester College) and part site-based work. We expect a high level of commitment from all of our apprentices as the training will be tough at times, but the rewards at the end are definitely worth the effort.
This Year we have vacancies for 1 apprenticeship in each of the following trades: Bricklaying, Plastering, Painting & Decorating and Site Joinery.
We accept applications from February 1st through to the 2nd April 2010 with interviews and appointments being made later in the year. The apprenticeship will commence in September, in line with the college year, although there may be opportunities for successful applicants to work on site from August.
You will need to apply to ConstructionSkills who are the Managing Agency for our apprenticeship scheme; they will call registered candidates in for an aptitude test to assess their suitability for the type of training which is being offered. This test must be passed in order for us to proceed with the application.
