Apprenticeships
Release Date: 07 September 2012
Applications for our next intake of Apprenticeships can be made after February 13th 2013.
The Jelson Apprenticeship Scheme runs over 3 years with trainees aiming for NVQ Levels 1, 2 & 3. The course combines study at Leicester College and work on our construction sites.
We expect a high level of commitment from all of our apprentices as the training will be challenging at times, although we believe the rewards of new skills and brighter career prospects are definitely worth the effort.
We accept applications from February 13th and interviews for successful applicants take place later in the year. The apprenticeships commence in September, in line with the college year, although there may be opportunities to work on site from August.
First, you will need to apply to ConstructionSkills who are the Managing Agency for our scheme. They will call registered candidates in for an aptitude test to assess their suitability for the type of training offered. Applications are usually made online at www.bconstructive.co.uk. If you do not have regular access to the internet please call direct on 08448 440046 and ask for an application pack.
This test must be passed in order for us to proceed with the application – once you have passed please send your CV with a covering letter to:
Mrs A de Vere Hunt Jelson Ltd 370 Loughborough Road Leicester LE4 5PR
Please enclose confirmation from ConstructionSkills that you have applied for or have successfully completed the assessment, any reports or references (i.e. part-time jobs or weekend work) that might be relevant to support your application. Please indicate which trade you are interested in. Desired GCSE results would be a grade D or above in Mathematics and English
If you have any questions about our apprenticeships please contact Mrs Anne de Vere Hunt on 0116 2661541.
